Print This Article

The latest release of Avaya’s IP Office R5 provides businesses with greater flexibility and better support for telecommuters and mobile workers as well as improved call center features. The IP Office R5 is packaged in six tailored roles each designed to meet specific work needs.

Avaya IP Office R5 has also increased it’s scalability from 272 users up to 384 users per system. The IP Office Conference Center audio conference bridge has been expanded to handle up to 2 simultaneous 64 party conference calls.

Business with multiple locations can take advantage of the IP Office and it’s business continuity features. In the event of a site going down or outage a business location can use servers from another location to keep phones and voice mail in operation. If a site goes down the phones can re-register to another location.

A new WEB based client allow users to access phone control from their PC. Call routing, ringing, call logs and phone directories can all be accessed remotely.

Finally the Avaya IP Office R5 has enhanced their call center offering with a more powerful web based supervisor and introduced a powerful new contact center reporting application – also accessible via Web browser – that is easier for small businesses to install, update and use. Customer Call Reporter can track customer service progress and agent productivity, while using alarms to help administrators react to issues in real-time. With Customer Call Reporter, agents can see how they are performing against workgroup averages, while supervisors can track factors such as the number of agents logged on, as well as calls arriving, waiting or lost.

With the release of Avaya IP Office 500 software, available now, the Avaya IP Office 500 server becomes the company’s single server offering for the SME market. Current IP Office customers with existing IP 406v2 and IP412 IP Office servers can upgrade to Avaya Office 500.

“By strengthening and expanding the range of communications capabilities available to small businesses today, Avaya gives SMEs the tools necessary to compete in today’s challenging business environment,” Anthony Bartolo , vice president and general manager, small and medium enterprise communications, Avaya, said in a statement. “Today’s IP Office enhancements represent our commitment to simplify offers, improve customer service and help small and medium-sized businesses get the most out of user-friendly unified communications tools.”
