Autocall
With Autocall, you can use any PC to
initiate a conference call from a pre-defined
list, either instantly or at a scheduled time. Or
you can use it to call and notify people of a
future scheduled meet-me conference or to leave
any other recorded message, such as emergency or
jury duty announcements.
Autocall
also allows you to set up telephone books, define
calling groups, and set up schedules for
conference calls. People can be listed in multiple
calling groups. At the scheduled time, Autocall
will call each party, verify that the call is
answered, make an announcement, and transfer the
call to the conference bridge. Any conference
bridge. If Autocall encounters a busy signal or
"no answer," it will retry the call
later. If it reaches an answering machine or voice
mail system, it will leave a message.
Autocall’s
scheduler lets you review the groups already on
the schedule so you can find open times. Or, if
you try to schedule over an existing schedule, it
will warn you of a conflict.
With
Autocall -Windows 95/98, you can set up your
conferences and move on. The PC will watch the
clock and, at the scheduled time, initiate the
calls without disrupting your work.
And best of all, Autocall is cost-effective. You
don’t need to replace anything. Autocall will
work with installed Confer II bridges or most
dial-accessible conference bridges. Just select
the PC, install the card, load the software, and
plug in the phone line.
Coupler
The Confer Coupler Unit is a self-contained,
desktop coupler for connecting up to 4 bridges.
The Coupler may be used in pairs for up to 6
bridges (36 ports.) The Coupler makes possible 6,
12 or 18 port conferencing with easy push-button
control. Switches for coupling and monitoring of
bridges are located on the front panel of the
Coupler. The Coupler will work with the Confer II
or the previous model, the Confer M. An AC plug-in
power pack is included. The Coupler Unit may be
located remotely from the bridges.
The
Confer Coupler Board plugs into the card cage and
will couple up to 8 cards. It may also be used to
couple two sets of 4 bridges in separate use.
Power is provided by the card cage power supply.
Other
Options
Option A, Lockout
The Lockout option is a standard feature unless it
is disabled with an option switch. It allows users
to lock the bridge from intrusion during a
conference. It is activated by any conferee
depressing the "L" (5) digit after all
desired parties are in the conference, thus
preventing outsiders from accessing unused ports.
Depressing the "U" (8) digit unlocks the
bridge.
Option
B, Authorization Code
The authorization code provides security to access
the bridge. When a person calls into the bridge,
he/she must enter the correct 4-digit code
assigned for the conference to be allowed into the
conference. A wrong code will disconnect the
caller.
Option
D, Dial Out
Allows a person, calling into port six, to access
available lines (5 through 1) to place a call OUT
of the bridge for purposes of adding a party to a
conference in progress. Available only in 6-port
configurations, standard. Other configurations
must be reviewed.
4-Wire
Port Options
Ports may be optioned for 4-wire Audio (always in
the conference, no supervision) or 4-wire E&M.(similar
to Type 5). Contact Forum for details on these
options.
Special
Configurations
The flexibility of the design of the CONFER II, it
is readily adaptable to special requirements.
