  • Telcom & Data Introduces the Only Truly Wireless Conference Phone with Removable Microphones, Speaker, and Dial Pad.

Wireless Conference Phone Revolabs Flex Wireless Conference Phone

Telcom & Data, a leader in teleconferencing products, announced today the introduction of Revolab’s FLX wireless conference phone to its product line. The problem with every wireless or corded table top conference phone is that its microphones and speakers are fixed to the unit. The Revolabs FLX gives new flexibility to teleconferencing with respect to the placement of the speaker, microphone, and wireless dial pad. The microphones, speaker, and wireless remote dial pad can be placed where needed. The FLX (“FLEX”) wireless conference phone is ideal for small and medium-sized conference rooms requiring better sound coverage.

Revolab’s FLX wireless conference phone has many unique features to maximize convenience and performance. The FLX supports both audio and video conferencing to reduce the amount of equipment needed, minimizing overhead costs. USB audio to a PC makes applications such as Skype, WebEx, Lync, and Sametime wireless and equipped for conference calls. Because the inconvenience of wire configuration is eliminated, the microphones and speaker can easily be placed throughout the room to optimize sound quality. With a transmission range of 65 feet, room arrangements are endless. The FLX has crystal clear audio and is resistant to feedback from wireless electronic devices like cell phones, iPads, and laptops. Security is ensured with a 128-bit encryption, which means no one will be able to listen in on the signal sent between the microphone and base station. For this reason, Boeing and Bank of Chicago trust Revolabs with their teleconferencing needs. Users can make private phone calls using a headset and mobile users can utilize Bluetooth communication. The FLX supports both VoIP and analog phone interfaces.

The FLX has four microphone purchasing options to meet users’ unique needs. The first option includes two omni-directional microphones, an ideal solution for medium-sized conference rooms where two different areas of the room require a microphone pick-up. The second option includes one wearable and one omni-directional microphone, designed for conference room presentations with live audiences, such as churches and schools. The third option contains two directional microphones, ideal for audio or video conferences where participants are in a limited area. The fourth option consists of two wearable microphones which are intended for conference room presentations without live audiences.

When Ricardo Trinidad, President of Telcom & Data, was asked about the advantages of FLX, he said, “Revolab’s FLX wireless conference phone is a perfect solution for users that don’t want to be constrained to the acoustic limits of traditional table top conference phones. We are very excited to bring this technology to our customers.”

For more information about the FLX, visit Telcom & Data’s website or call 1-800-335-0229.

  • XOP Networks deploys its IP based Hoot and Holler Conference Bridge at a Large Airline

XOP Networks, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced conference bridges, now offers IP based Hoot and Holler conferencing capability.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) May 06, 2015

XOP Networks, Inc., a manufacturer of advanced conference bridges now offers IP based Hoot and Holler conference bridges. These bridges have proven interoperability with a number of Push to Talk (PTT) four wire FXS to SIP gateways, Turrets, Squawk boxes and a variety of SIP based Hoot and Holler end devices.

Hoot and holler networks provide “always on” multiuser conferences without requiring users to dial into a conference. Such conferences are routinely used by brokerages, news agencies, publishers, weather bureaus, Satellite Launch operators, transportation providers, power plant operators and nationwide salvage yard organizations.

Hoot and holler networks are traditionally deployed using point-to-point leased lines that terminate into a TDM based hoot and holler conference bridge that is hosted either by the customer or by the PSTN carrier.

Large corporations have been implementing their own private data networks. These networks typically touch all physical locations that are involved in hoot-n-holler conferencing as well. Hence, a more cost effective approach for implementing the hoot network is to convert the traditional 4 wire devices (PTT Radios, Phones, Squawk boxes etc.) into SIP end points with the help of media gateways and then connect the resulting voice paths to an IP based Hoot-n-Holler conference bridge over the data network.

Our IP based Hoot-n-Holler conference bridge is a robust Linux based platform that is designed to fulfill the ‘always on’ audio conferencing needs of large mission critical networks

The benefits of using the IP based Hoot and Holler network approach are:

    • Eliminate the need for expensive leased lines
    • Improve hoot and holler network manageability
    • PSTN connectivity to H-n-H network
    • Reduce the time to troubleshoot a problem from hours to minutes
    • Pave way for adding native SIP based Hoot-n-Holler end devices going forward

One of the largest airlines in the world recently deployed XOP Networks’ IP based Hoot-n-Holler conference bridges. Two conference bridges are deployed in Hot/Standby high availability configuration at two separate geographical locations thereby ensuring 99.999% availability.

“Our IP based Hoot-n-Holler conference bridge is a robust Linux based platform that is designed to fulfill the ‘always on’ audio conferencing needs of large mission critical networks. It supports both legacy TDM and VoIP/SIP interfaces thus allowing our customers to migrate their hoot-n-holler networks towards packet based networking at their own pace,” said Sudhir Gupta, CEO of XOP Networks.

“Our recent success in deploying IP based Hoot and Holler network at the large airline customer proves the validity of the business case. Our customer now has a modern, robust SIP based conference bridge that paid for itself in less than 4 months,” added Doug Jacobs, VP of Sales, XOP Networks.

Telcom & Data, a leader in teleconferencing products, is pleased to introduce the Revolabs FLX conference phone. The Revolabs FLX delivers superior versatility and wireless capabilities. The difficulty with all corded and wireless tabletop conference phones is that its microphones and speakers are fixed to the unit. This is where the Revoloabs FLX is different.

The FLX microphones, speaker, and wireless remote dial pad detach from the base unit and can be placed anywhere in the room. This means that users don’t have to shout across the room in order to be heard. It also means the sound is crisp and clear for users on both ends of the conversation. The innovative features and functional design make the Revolabs FLX perfect for executive offices, conference rooms, and SoHo environments.

The FLX conference phone also has Bluetooth capabilities, making it possible for a smartphone to be turned into a conference phone.

When Ricardo Trinidad, president of Telcom & Data, was asked about the Revolabs FLX conference phone, he said, “If a conference phone is fixed in one place, then those making the call also have to be fixed in one place. This simply isn’t practical for multi-person conference calls. The Revolabs FLX is the solution.”
