Telcom & Data, a leader in business phone systems, is pleased to introduce Guardian Telecom Inmate Phones for correctional facilities. The telephones were designed with a major North American justice system to provide reliable and affordable communications for those either charged or serving time. Additional applications include: secured areas within institutions, airport security areas, transit fare kiosks, and secure reception areas.
The heavy-duty construction of the phones decreases overall costs by reducing repair and replacement fees in what are often very hostile environments. Safety was a main factor in the design. The standard hand set length was reduced to 16” to reduce the chance of the hand set being used as a weapon or choking device. The phones are also designed to endure public abuse and tampering as well as low or high temperatures, dust, water and corrosion.
To provide flexibility and room for growth, Guardian’s correctional telephones can easily be connected to any telephone network with standard wiring and parts. Voice quality is unaffected when phones are connected within 15,000 feet. When Tyler Wood, Director of Channel Sales at Guardian Telecom was asked about the design of Guardian’s Inmate Phones, he said, “Our correctional telephones are highly rugged and durable. They are designed to provide safe and reliable communication in locations prone to abuse and vandalism.”
