  • Telcom & Data Introduces Revolutionary Water-Cooled Rack Enclosure - 40% Less Energy Consumption than Traditional Infrastructure

Today, data centers are filled with smaller and more powerful servers that emit enormous amounts of heat. The most pressing problem data center mangers face is developing air conditioning systems and rack arrangements that sufficiently cool the equipment. Telcom & Data, a leader in server racks and enclosures, is proud to introduce Great Lake’s closed-loop, water-cooled enclosure (CLWCE) as an innovative solution. The CLWCE is a 36 rack mount unit (RMU), 19" EIA enclosure. The cooling system uses low pressure chilled water to remove the heat produced by the servers.

The CLWCE saves on floor space, power consumption, and maintenance. The unit consumes 50% less floor space than plenum cooling and consumes up to 40% less energy than traditional infrastructure. The high-tech cooling system limits the risk of overheating individual servers which will in turn save on maintenance costs.

When Brian Franz, the Midwest Regional Sales Manager at Great Lakes Case & Cabinet, was asked about the enclosure, he said, “The enclosure provides an integrated closed-loop cooling system. It seals servers from re-circulated exhaust, making it a versatile high-density solution for today’s data center challenges.”

  • Telcom & Data Introduces Rugged Industrial Phones for Offshore Drilling Rigs

Offshore workers face loud, wet, and hazardous conditions. In these environments, reliable communication is critical for safety. Telcom & Data, a leader in offshore technology, is proud to introduce Guardian’s DTT-50-Z and DTT-60-Z outdoor industrial telephones for reliable offshore communication. Both models are ATEX-IEC certified. ATEX-IEC certified products provide safety and protection in locations where a combination of air and flammable substances are present.

The DTT-50-Z and DTT-60-Z meet stringent Zone 1 safety requirements. A watertight keypad features oversized buttons that can easily be used while wearing gloves and can be programmed for speed dialing. A noise cancelling microphone ensures crystal clear sound quality. Maximum location versatility is made possible by desktop and wall mounting configurations. Additionally, the units operate on telephone line power, removing the need for an external power source. The key difference between the two models is the telephone cord; the DTT-50-Z has an armored cord and the DTT-60-Z has a coil cord.

When Sean Newborn, Sales Manager at Guardian Telecom, was asked about the benefits of the outdoor industrial phones, he said, “The DTT-50/60 series are ideally suited for offshore use as they offer IP66 weather protection without the need for a separate enclosure. The key pad size is also large enough to be used with gloves in inclement weather conditions.”

  • Telcom & Data Announces Innovative IP Addressable Drop-In Ceiling Tile Speaker for VoIP Phone Paging

IP phone systems use a Power over Ethernet (PoE) network. Until recently, connecting overhead paging systems usually involved employing a VoIP gateway to connect analog speakers. Telcom & Data, a leader in overhead phone paging systems, is proud to introduce CyberData’s IP drop-in ceiling tile speaker as a favorable installation alternative. The ceiling speaker is a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE 802.3af) and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) loudspeaker that connects easily into local area networks. By eliminating the need to cut a hole in the ceiling, installation time is cut by 70%.

The speaker easily fits most ceiling tiles with a 1’ x 2’ “drop-in” design. The device can be used with the majority of SiP-based IP PBX and it can play audio from a multicast source in a non-SiP setting. The speaker is IP addressable and works like any IP end point on the phone system.

When Ricardo Trinidad, President of Telcom & Data, was asked about the CyberData speaker, he said, “This new innovation from CyberData really makes VoIP paging installation a breeze. On top of that, the speakers offer crisp and clear sound.”

  • Telcom & Data Announces Cost-Efficient Cloud Based Video Conferencing Solution, Highly Demanded Interoperability with Skype, Cisco Jabber, and Google Talk

ZTE’s M900 offers the highest value conferencing platform in the industry at $195 per port. However, at 128 ports, small businesses may not be able to justify the cost ($25K), nor do they need 128 ports. ZTE has partnered with Vidtel to create a perfect solution for small enterprises. Vidtel’s cloud based MeetMe video conferencing service is now available for use with ZTE's hardware and software-based endpoints. Applicable products include ZTE’s T800, T700, and T100. A three-year agreement with Vidtel for eight endpoints in a Vidtel meeting room is approximately $10K and additional ports can be added at any time.

Vidtel provides an exceptional any-to-any service. That is, users can engage in conferences across different platforms, without the need for expensive bridges and exchange services. Connections can be made with businesses using any other brand of H.323 or SIP video conferencing platform, including Cisco/Tandberg, InFocus, LifeSize, Polycom, Skype, and Google Talk.

When David Jackson, Strategic Accounts Manager at TK6, was asked about the Vidtel and ZTE partnership, he said, “ZTE and Vidtel have teamed up so that small and medium enterprise users can, from a cost, ease-of-use, and interoperability standpoint conduct effective video conferences.”
